Class Teachers: Kim Brown/Aimee Lett
Apple class teachers are Mrs Brown and Miss Lett. We have both been at Woodlands for a few years now, so are familiar faces around school.
I first started teaching at Woodlands in 2016 in Reception, and am currently teaching in Year 1, Apple Class. I am also Music lead for the school and am leading a KS1 choir during Wednesday lunch times. I am passionate about music in education and must say that making music is my number one hobby. We have some fabulous trips planned for the year ahead and we are very excited.
I first started working at Woodlands Primary school in 2016 as 1:1 Teaching Assistant, and over the years at the school I have gained more experience teaching as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. This is my first year working as a Teacher in Year 1, in Apple Class, and I am also lucky enough to be working alongside the HIRB, supporting the hearing impaired children.
I am excited for what this year may bring!
We are also lucky to have Mrs Ashfield in the class with us, working 1:1 with children...
Here’s what we’ll be learning this Term:
Our Term 1 focus is ‘All About Me! ‘ The children are learning about our environment, routines and expectations. It is a very exciting time for them! We encourage the children to become independent and always encourage them to have a go with an ‘I can’ attitude.
We have been exploring learning through the children’s interests which we observed on our transition home visits and pre-school visits. We then develop these through using stories and a wide variety of experiences.
Homework is due in every Thurdsay.
Weekly Spellings will also be on Thursdays.
PE: Lessons are twice weekly on an Monday and a Thursday however, we recommend keeping PE kits in school for the term.
