Woodlands Primary

Chestnut (Y2)

Class Teacher: Rebecca Smart

Welcome to Chestnut class. My name is Miss Smart and I teach in Year 2. I started my journey here at Woodlands in January this year in Year 1, where I shared Apple class with Mrs Davies.

We have some very interesting and exciting topics that we will be learning about in Year 2 this term so please watch this space!

Having danced since the age of 4, I am very much looking forward to offering a new hip-hop club to Year 4’s. This will give me the opportunity to pass on many years of dance experience and choreograph some brand new routines for potential upcoming festivals.

Here’s what we’ll be learning this Term:

During the Autumn term, we will be learning all about The Great Fire of London, The Gunpowder Plot, Diwali and Christmas. We will learn about the capital cities of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and ask questions about our school and its surrounding area. In DT we will explore mechanisms and in Art we use a range of materials creatively. We will finish the term with our Christmas production.

Homework is due in every Wednesday.

Weekly Spellings will be on either Wednesday or Thursday.

Numbers Club will also be on either Wednesday or Thursday.

PE: Lessons are twice weekly on an Wednesday and a Friday however, we recommend keeping PE kits in school for the term.
