I am very proud to be the Headteacher at Woodlands Primary School, supported by a highly skilled and dedicated team of teachers and support staff. Our school is a two form entry primary with an integrated nursery and a Hearing Impaired Resource Base for South Gloucestershire.
Our vision is to be outstanding in all – being the best that we can be in everything that we do. We have high aspirations for our children, and our ethos can be best described as ‘nurture and challenge’. We strongly believe in providing an emotionally predictable, safe learning environment where children can thrive under our high expectations.
We follow a rich knowledge-based curriculum called 'A Million Dreams', which places a strong emphasis on children acquiring a secure understanding of the core skills of reading, writing and maths, within an exciting and engaging, broad and balanced curriculum.
Year 3 are so excited. An unexpected parcel arrived today from @LymeRegisMuseum asking the children to complete some projects about Mary Anning. The box was full of clues and artefacts which the children were able to link to their learning. https://t.co/DOBRFhYAF2
Year 3 have enthusiastically engaged in studying ammonite fossils. They have explored narratives about fossil explorer Mary Anning during reading sessions. They used waste paper and card to create 3D models drawing inspiration from @DarrellWakelam https://t.co/CCGWdW0BtB

In Nursery we have been learning about Lunar New Year and some of the traditions surrounding it. Today we learned about the wishing trees in China. We made marks to represent our wishes for the New Year. #ChineseNewYear2024 #YearofDragon https://t.co/Hvl0iufwFZ
