Pupil, Parent and Staff Voice

Stakeholder Views

  • Parents: Data  reflects an exceptionally positive overall sentiment, with 94% agreeing their child is happy and 96% reporting their child feels safe. Overall satisfaction improved across key metrics compared to the previous year, including curriculum awareness (85%) and access to clubs (91%).

  • Staff: The majority of staff feel proud to work at the school, agree equality and diversity are promoted, and understand school priorities. 

  • Children: Responses show a positive core experience: 80% feel safe, 80% enjoy learning, and 92% know the school expects them to work hard. Pupils actively shared detailed feedback regarding classroom temperature, noise levels, and playground facilities.

In response to pupil feedback we implemented Purple Lanyard, Orange Hi-Vis and Routines. 

Celebrating Strengths

  • Safety & Inclusivity: High safety ratings from parents (96%) and pupils (80%) align with strong consensus on equality and diversity from staff (81.3%) and pupils (87%).

  • Dedicated Staff: Parents praised approachable teachers and teaching assistants, pupils valued fun, supportive teachers who help them when stuck, and staff highlighted strong teamwork and a shared passion for watching children grow.

  • Academic Ambition & Enrichment: 89% of parents and 92% of pupils recognise the school's high expectations. Pupil participation satisfaction in clubs rose to 91%, while children noted strong engagement in Maths, PE, and Art.

Next Steps

  • Designate communication systems to avoid searching through multiple platforms.

  • e.g., using ClassDojo for all newsletters and menus, email for official notices

  • Children are looking for more explicit feedback and a clearer understanding of their individual "next steps" to help them bridge gaps in their own knowledge.

  • Children have expressed a desire for the "Every Child has a Voice" priority to develop further. Woodlands is on a roadmap to further develop oracy across the school, building on the strength of Early Years.

  • Implement smarter, streamlined processes to reduce routine tasks and  support workload allowing staff more time to focus on high-impact teaching and pupil engagement. 

    • Million Dreams Launchpad for quick access to planning, cursive font for Google apps.

  • Develop the use of Steplab for all teaching staff to support professional development and improve outcomes for all pupils.

  • Environment & Wellbeing: Address physical environmental concerns such as classroom heat and noise levels, improve resource sustainability practices, and explore playground enhancements.
