Anti-Bullying

Our school is incredibly proud to be a member of the Anti-Bullying Alliance and to take part in Anti-Bullying Week each year. We are passionate about beating bullying and creating a school community where every child feels safe, happy, respected, included and valued. Through our membership of the Anti-Bullying Alliance, we have access to expert training, evidence-based resources and current guidance, helping us to continually strengthen our whole-school approach to preventing and responding to bullying. Anti-Bullying Week is a particularly special time in our school, bringing pupils and staff together through a variety of fun, creative and meaningful activities that celebrate kindness, friendship, empathy and respect. From exploring the importance of positive relationships to our much-loved tradition of wearing odd socks to celebrate what makes each of us unique, the week reminds us that our differences should be celebrated and that everyone has a part to play in creating a kinder world. We empower our pupils to speak up, look out for one another and have the courage to stand together against bullying. Through our shared commitment, we strive to ensure that kindness is not just something we celebrate during Anti-Bullying Week, but something we live by every day.

We believe that transparency and open communication with families are essential, and we encourage all parents and carers to take a look at the attached approach and flowchart to understand how we respond to and address bullying and unkind behaviour here at Woodlands.
