Woodlands Primary

Acorn (R)

Class Teacher: Katy Rawlings

Acorn Class Teachers are Mrs Rawlings and Mrs Davies. We have both been teaching at Woodlands for many years so are familiar faces around school.

Mrs Rawlings: I am Acorn Class Teacher on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I am also the EYFS lead. I was very proud to be part of the team who set up Woodlands Nursery which continues to be a great success. The EYFS team always strive to ensure the children are safe, happy and successful.

Mrs Davies: I teach in Cherry class on a Wednesday, and in Acorn class on Thursdays and Fridays. I have worked throughout Key Stage 1 during my time at Woodlands and am now excited to be working with the Reception classes.

Here’s what we’ll be learning this Term:

Our Term 1  focus is ‘All About Me! ‘   The children are learning about our environment, routines and expectations. It is a very exciting time for them! We encourage the children to become independent and always encourage them to have a go with an ‘I can’ attitude.

We have been exploring learning through the children’s interests which we observed on our transition home visits and pre-school visits. We then develop these through using stories and a wide variety of experiences.

PE: Lessons are twice weekly on an Thursday and a Friday however, we recommend keeping PE kits in school for the term.
