Religious education offers children the opportunities to reflect, discuss and develop confidence in their knowledge and understanding of different religions that prove to be essential for life in modern Britain. Pupils are given the chance to work collaboratively and independently in exploring the various religious beliefs which help them build their own world view.
In Woodlands Primary, we use “handy” way to vocabulary to support children with the most crucial information for each of the religions we learn about.
As we recognise the benefits of using knowledge organisers in Topic, we are currently in a process of incorporating knowledge organisers in RE with Year 2, Year 4, Year 5 trailing it before incorporating them school wide in Term 4. The knowledge organisers are used by pupils and teachers to retrieve key information and to support children in memorising the information better.
